It used to be that if you were a man and you were looking for a wedding ring, you were stuck in a pretty small box. Let’s face it: men, for the most part, don’t like jewelry. And while they may know all about their significant other’s like’s and dislike’s thanks to the fact that they spend lead up’s to anniversary’s and birthday’s at the jewelry shop looking for the perfect piece, they typically don’t know anything about what kind of jewelry they themselves want to buy. While it’s never really a problem for most men, since they don’t buy jewelry for themselves, when it comes time for a wedding, finding the right ring may seem like a monumental task. Because of this, men typically go with standard gold or silver bands that look as boring as they sound. Things have changed, though, thanks to the appearance of tungsten and titanium rings.
It’s not like tungsten and titanium are new to the jewelry world; in fact, they have been around for years featured in more “industrial” looking pieces. The thing is, they have never been utilized as widely as they have recently in regards to men’s jewelry. While you can find a wide variety of men’s jewelry on the market featuring tungsten and titanium, the biggest market that has been affected is the men’s wedding rings sector. The reason for this is simple: a wedding ring is something that men are going to have to wear year in and year out. And since most men are not a huge fan of wearing rings, they at least want something that they would like to wear.
So what’s the appeal of wearing a men’s tungsten or titanium wedding ring? It’s the “industrial” look that it gives. In a way, it’s a look that will be recognized it a person looks at your hands, but also a look that won’t draw a lot of attention. It’s not big and flashy, but it’s also not something that blend’s in the background either. While many men choose to have a simple design with either a smooth or curved ring, others choose to add such items as inlaid diamonds and metallic ropes to give their ring a bit of an extra oomph.
Tungsten and titanium wedding rings are available both online and in many fine jewelry stores. Since you aren’t dealing with a precious medal like gold or silver, a ring featuring a more “metallic” substances can run a little bit cheaper than a typical wedding ring. Take a look online to see what kind of prices and options you can find.
Kimberly Green thinks that titanium rings are some of the coolest rings out there today.
In a world of jewelry, men can sometimes feel a bit lost when they are looking for something for themselves. The reason for this is simple: most men out there don’t like to wear jewelry, let alone buy it for themselves. Heck, going to the jeweler for the special girl in their life: easy as pie. You know their likes, their dislikes, their wants and their needs. You can walk into the jewelry shop, spend five minutes looking around and walk out with the perfect ring. The thing is, that’s because you know exactly what they want because you’ve bought them pieces regularly. When it comes time to buy yourself something like a wedding ring, you may find yourself freaking out because, well, you have no idea what the heck you like. That’s why titanium rings have become such hits for those looking for men’s wedding rings.
The thing about men’s jewelry is that people have a tendency to not know what is out there. Men typically think that for them, they have the exact same options as the women do. This means that they have to settle on rings made of gold, silver, bronze, or whatever other precious metal they can find. The thing is, if you look a little to the right or the left of these standard choices, you’ll find options like titanium rings. The great thing about titanium is that they bring something new to the table. Plus, you can mix titanium with gold, silver and platinum to make something that straddles the “New” and “Traditional” genres.
You don’t have to stop with the mixing there. In addition, you can also add things like diamonds, precious stones, and even industrial looking metal rope to a titanium ring to give it some added zing. One of the main reasons why men love the idea of titanium rings is because it gives them a mix of styles. It goes “industrial” without losing all of it’s elegance. In other words: it’s a wedding ring that they don’t mind wearing the rest of their life. In fact, with so many different options out there, they may actually enjoy picking it out as well.
In terms of where to go to buy titanium rings, the internet is actually the best place. While you can buy them in stores, you can actually get them for a whole lot less online. Check the different stores to see what they offer you, and make sure that you get a guarantee that you can return it if it doesn’t match what you were looking for.
Author Kim Green cannot get over how beautiful titanium rings are.
There is a point in the preparation of any wedding where you want to throw your arms up in the air and just scream “That’s it, I’m done.” It’s the first time in the six or seven months leading up to the wedding where the idea of just running off to Vegas seems like anything but a joke. This is typically around the time where you’re debating whether to get a mustard sauce or a honey mustard sauce for your appetizers, and trying to decide whether a titanium ring will clash with cufflinks that the groomsman is going to wear. The thing is that this is an important moment in any wedding: this is the moment where you take a deep breath and realize that a wedding is for the bride and the groom and everyone else, no matter how much they want to input, can just butt out of the equation.
I didn’t mean for that last sentence to sound so mean, but having multiple people making decisions on a wedding day will only lead to a lot of drama and even more hurt feelings. Most wedding’s run into difficulties when advice is taken by other parties. How do I know this? Because I’ve gone through it. When I got married to my husband we were young and naïve and decided that we needed the help of our parents to plan our dream wedding. Well, after a few months, we realized that our dream wedding had turned into their dream wedding, with more issues arising from the fact that each parent had a different idea of what exactly a dream wedding should consist of.
There came a point where we found that we needed to make a decision: either take it over ourselves or just be miserable at our own wedding. It’s not that the ideas that our parents had were bad, it’s just that there were too many of them. We found ourselves having to combine all the ideas into a wedding that began to look increasingly unattractive to us. So with about four months to go until the wedding we decided to take back control and do our own wedding. We hurt a few egos and had to make some tough phone calls, but in the end we were able to put together a wedding that we wanted.
So when you hit that point where you feel like your wedding is skidding away from you, the best decision you can make is to take a step back and look at what you really want in your wedding and what others are making you do. It’s one of the smartest things you can do.
Kimberly Green loves the fact her husband chose one of the new titanium rings for their wedding.
Maybe I’m part of a dying breed but I still love to window shop. Remember window shopping? That thing you used to do with your parents when you were walking in a commercial district? You would walk from window to window looking at toys and stuff that caught your fancy and maybe, just maybe guilt your parents into buying something for you? Yeah, I still enjoy doing that.
Now that I’m older I’ve replaced toys and dresses with titanium rings and wood furniture, but it’s still a joy. Maybe it’s trying to reclaim a bit of my childhood but it’s just something that I enjoy doing either with my family or by myself. There is just something so nice and calming about it, walking from window to window going “Oh, that would be cool to buy”. Of course, being an adult I could go in and buy the product (which I do sometimes), but to me that’s not the point of the whole experience. For me it’s more about picturing the product in my apartment on in my car. It’s like the last bit of fantasy us adults have. I’m convinced that’s why the moment I got older I started enjoying the Home and Garden TV Network, the idea of “Ooo, we could do that”. By imagining what you would do with said product in said window you are using your imagination, that thing that you abandoned the moment you realized you had to work for a living.
My favorite places to window shops are either streets lined with antique shops or long touristy avenues in resort areas (pricy but they always have nice stuff on display). Antique shops are almost a no brainer as they have some of the most interesting items on the planet. There is so much more personality in a table that has been around for several generations then one that was just taken off of an assembly line. Antique shops always have the most interesting stuff in their windows because, frankly, they put as much stuff as will fit big, medium and small.
Resort areas have a tendency to have long streets full of stores that try to lure customers in with elaborate and expensive window displays. Everything from mom and pop stores to large chain stores display products which are, depending on taste, either wonderful or forgettable, but never boring. I can spend a hours walking up and down the streets with a coffee in hand just looking at the products and dreaming about where to put them. Maybe it’s just me, but there is something quite magical about that experience.
Kim Green loves to window shop for fashionable jewelry of all types, including titanium rings.
Maybe it’s just me but I’ve been noticing titanium rings a lot more recently. This might be why an actor wearing one stood out to me at the Oscars.
Oscar night is one of the biggest nights in Hollywood. For the elite in the movie industry this is not only the night where they award their own for excellence in cinema, but also show off their outfits and jewelry to their world. While females are usually the main attraction at the ceremonies with their cleavage bearing dresses and million dollar (plus) jewelry, men are not completely immune to the fashion bug. At the Oscars men show off their look with exclusive tuxedos and subtle- well, usually at least- jewelry which adorn their hands, necks and, sometimes, ears.
While I tend to not notice men’s jewelry on celebrities, there was, for some reason, one piece that stood out to me. During the presentation of the Best Picture category, they showed a brief glimpse of Jeremy Renner who starred in the eventual Best Picture winner The Hurt Locker. During this glimpse I noticed that Renner was wearing one of those titanium rings which I’ve seen gaining in popularity in recent years. Renner’s ring seemed pretty standard with its simple shape, and subtle design. Frankly, the only reason I probably noticed it was that one of my friend’s husband’s wears one as his wedding band. Renner is not married nor engaged so I’m guessing it’s purely a style thing.
Though you don’t see them that often, I’ve really become a fan of these titanium rings. At first I thought maybe it was a bit too “industrial” for something like a wedding band, but as time has gone on they have really started to grow on me. I’ve actually started looking into them for one of my friends who is getting married. She asked me what I thought she should get for the men’s wedding band and I was (more then) happy to give her my opinion. She looked into it and was really impressed at what she found.
I’m not really sure why I’m so impressed with these rings. Maybe the fact that they are a bit more industrial-looking makes them seem more appealing on a guy. Let’s face it, as a girl we want are guys to be sweet and sensitive, but we also want them to be a bit tough and rugged. Those shelves aren’t going to build themselves, right?
So as I told my friend these titanium wedding rings might be something to look into. If you’re not all about diamonds and gold and stuff, then this might be a worthwhile thing to look into for your husband’s wedding band.
Kim Green loves to people watch and always seems to notice what they’re wearing jewelry wise, men’s rings and titanium rings
