Tips on how to show off your home to people passing by with a beautiful home lighting Christmas display. It is the season to show off your holiday style.
‘Tis the season of putting up those Christmas lights! And there are plenty of ways to have a lot of really nice lights and decorations up without it looking tacky and just being an eye sore to the public. You want to have cars slowly going by your home admiring the light display you have created and not slowing down because they cannot believe the light catastrophe you have made as though you were trying to contact people from outer space because it is so bright!
First you want to make a note of what kind of home you have. An old Victorian home should be decorates a little bit differently from a modern one story or 2 story home. If you have that older home then you want to think elegance and class. Do not just waste electricity blinding your neighbors putting lights up on every single fixture you have. And remember that too many things in the yard being clutter and are visually disturbing. In many cases less home lighting is more.
If you have that one story home then you may want to consider lights around the roof line and along your fence and walk way. If you have a 2 story home you may even want to put them along the porch railing as well. Search for pictures of decorated homes so that you have something to look at and refer too. You may even want to check out your neighborhood to see what they typically do if you are new to the area. Candles in the windows always make for nice home lighting decor as well as wreathes on the door.
When putting up the lights be sure to have a latter that is sturdy and someone else there to help you. It is really should be a 2 person job. Make sure that all the lights are working correctly before you put them up. Also be sure to check to make sure that the wires are not frayed and if they are replaced them rather than fixing them. Better to be safe in this case. Also you want to make sure that they secured on by a fastener. When you are completed get a second option to see if it looks nice.
If you have columns you may want to string lights with some holiday green garland and wrap them around the poll. These are also great for porch railings as well. For this peel and stick fasteners work great. Happy Holidays!

If you have decided to homeschool your child it is important to have a meaningful and efficient homeschool curriculum in place. An ideal homeschool curriculum should include all the subjects that colleges are interested in. This would include subjects such as science, English, math, social studies, foreign languages, fine arts, physical education and much more. It is important to include a broad range of subjects when you are thinking about homeschooling in high school. This is a good idea for stay at home parents who would like to take personal responsibility over their children’s education and have a chance to spend more time with them as they mature. The academic subjects of focus are crucial for determining your child’s placement in colleges and universities.
Homeschooling in high school does not have to dependent on your personal knowledge of subjects your children should acquire. Even though your personal strengths may not include math or English, there are a variety of ways you can acquire the skills essential for your children’s learning curriculum. Some options include borrowing video tutorials, audio tapes and books from your local library or even browsing the Internet for essential learning resources. Homeschooling in high school is a meaningful method for your child to obtain the education necessary to prepare them for college. It is imperative to have your children’s interests in mind when designing a homeschooling in high school curriculum for them. Visiting a homeschool convention will give you a broader idea of what to include in your child’s learning experience.
Science, foreign language and math are subjects to be undertaken as a 3 year regiment. English, social studies, fine arts and physical education are generally 4 year courses. Each year a different aspect of science can be covered such as earth science, biology, physics and chemistry. You can also choose to do a mix of all four but it is recommended to approach the aspects of science in a systematic manner. Foreign languages should be a joint decision taken by you and your child in the first year of homeschooling in high school. This language would then be learned in a beginner, advanced and finally intermediate level. Popular language choices include French, Spanish, Latin, German, Chinese and Japanese. Sometimes if a child has chosen a particular career path one language may be more ideal over another. Most children interested in studying medicine opt for learning Latin as this skill is beneficial for pre-med college courses. Math can be taken in a span of 3 years but 4 years is encouraged as colleges like to see it. Having polished math skills will help children get better marks on the SAT exams. Math should include geometry, pre-calculus, trigonometry and algebra. English can cover a variety of aspects under the homeschooling in high school curriculum.
The most important idea is that you should instill the love for reading in your child. Reading and writing a lot is very important and will help them find it easier to study in college. Learning grammar, composition, and reading literary classics should be a part of the four years of English. Eventually the English skills your child obtains will help them write their college essays and get admission into good colleges and universities. 4 years of social studies should include American history, world history, economics and geography. Fine art is another subject you should decide with your child based upon his or her likes and dislikes. Fine arts includes music, art, theater and dance. If they are into music they can either join the church choir or take lessons to learn an instrument. If your child is more creative they can fulfill their fine arts credits by painting, drawing, sculpting and designing. Theater and dance are also options they can consider by joining a drama club or dance class. The physical education requirement can be fulfilled by joining a district or town sports team. Some good options include sports such as soccer, swimming, softball, baseball. Even entertaining activities such as skiing and dancing can fulfill the physical education requirement. The most important goal for homeschooling in high school is arming your child with the academic skills necessary for them to get into college and continue their further studies.

A recent report by several independent researchers concludes that
participating in the arts nurtures the development of social, personal and
cognitive skills. Programs based on Arts can improve academic achievement
and decrease the tendency towards delinquency. It helps youth form
positive attitudes about themselves and build self-esteem.
Arts programs involve communication, interpretation and understanding of
complex symbols, much like mathematics and languages. Thus it fosters
higher-order analytical skills and skills of evaluation and synthesis.
Many of the programs make the child regularly use multiple skills thus
making him dynamic and versatile.
Development of imagination, judgment and philosophy are fringe benefits of
an arts-based activity. As opposed to the short 45-minute duration of the
art classes at school, the extra time allowed in after school activities
allows the child to get more involved. This results in more satisfactory
opportunities for development of latent capabilities in the child. In
turn, the child learns to set high standards of achievement. He
understands what sustained focus is and learns that regular practice is
the way to excellence.
In the shy or the withdrawn child, theatre, speech or drama lessons may be
an outlet for pent up emotions. As drama entails getting into the ‘skin’
of another person, the child learns to verbalize emotions and express
thoughts. These reasons account for the popularity of arts-based
activities.

Commercial lighting systems are often much more complicated than they appear at face value. A significant number of factors influence the selection of equipment, placement of fixtures, and levels of illumination appropriate to structures, terrain, and activity. Most companies in today’s recession fear the costs associated with a commercial lighting system and seek to reduce overhead with generic equipment. This creates more problems than it solves. Cheap fixtures and poor design creates blinding spots of glare that cast shadows, creating both an eyesore and a number of safety and security hazards.
Commercial Interior Lighting
Choosing interior lights for commercial systems is simple and cost effective when a few basic factors are considered with each purchase. First, what room or building will the fixture illuminate? How many employees will be in this room, and what will they be doing there? How important is high color rendering to safe and productive labor? Will the lights be on continuously, or will they be on only when workers enter for a few minutes at a time?
Commercial lighting systems in factories and warehouses normally feature cool-burning fluorescents in these areas that require fewer bulb replacements, minimal heat, and reduce power consumption. In offices, halogen lights provide superb color rendering and glare free lighting for people working at computers, copy machines, and desks. Interior commercial light systems can be built per room, per specific task, in this fashion. One or two metal halide lights in a manager’s office is all one needs for a touch of decorative color. Fluorescents that give task light only when needed help further reduce electrical costs in bathrooms and kitchens, and the heat recycling ability of halogen lights proves itself ideal illumination in rooms where power conservation and human comfort are equally desirable conditions.
Commercial Security Lighting
Commercial lighting systems should always create a secure perimeter along the property line and provide bright lighting near and around the building. This is especially true for organizations with night crews working on loading docks, or maintenance and cleaning crews entering and exiting the building in the dark. These people need to clearly see their surroundings without being blinded by glare and without any shadows that could hide an intruder or lead to an injury in the dark.
Commercial security light systems can be very cost effective. Commercial floodlights can be controlled by timers that turn lights on at sundown and off at sunrise. Motion sensors can also be wired to these fixtures, turning them on only when a potential intruder triggers the photocell sensor. Such cost effective, but highly effective light sources help security cameras and guards can see more clearly around the edges of buildings and across the property between the building and the parking areas.
Parking Lot Lighting
Appropriate visibility in the parking lot constitutes a major factor in every commercial lighting system. Glare free parking lot lights will increase visibility between vehicles, eliminating any dark areas that car thieves and burglars can use for hiding spaces. Parking lot lights are actually regulated by the government and by law must produce a minimum of four foot candles of light. To make certain you are proposing the right poles and fixtures to your client,
Commercial Exterior Lighting
Exterior lights are critical elements in commercial lighting systems as they illuminates all sides of the building and ensure that building access points are clearly lit in a balanced level of light that dispels shadows without glare. Many Commercial Lighting designers utilize skills learned in architectural design cross training programs that enable them to link multiple buildings together in a field of natural-looking light that prevents unauthorized personnel from approaching the building without detection. We also recommend placing additional, selective lighting around driveways and signs to ensure safe after-hours access for authorized vehicles and night deliveries.
Commercial Landscape Lighting
Commercial lighting systems best serve the sense of unity between architecture and the natural landscape when they create 4 layers of illumination. While many lighting designers normally only utilize two layers to illuminate grounds and earthworks, most Commercial Lighting specialists will help any outdoor lighting contractor develop a multi-layered system using advanced photometric design tools and sophisticated specialty equipment.
