Buying Children’s Clothes That Last
Posted (Kim Green) in article on February-23-2009

Many parents find themselves a bit confused when trying to find the best clothes for their children. Ideally, children’s clothes should be comfortable to wear, fashionable in design and  made to last a long time.

Thoughts of buying children’s clothing begin even before baby is born. Usually at a baby shower and then shortly after baby is born, parents receive some clothes as baby gifts. Often these are small sizes that the child will outgrow rather quickly. With this in mind, you can easily see that buying children’s clothes is an ongoing task for parents.

Infants will change sizes every few weeks because of the rapid rate at which they grow. With this in mind, be sure to buy durable clothing in washable, comfortable fabrics. Babies have many accidents so make sure you buy clothes that are easy to clean. Buying several onesies and sleepers are your best bet when shopping for clothing for an infant. All in one outfits are also a great find, as they are easy to put on and take off for all those diaper changes!

As children grow and reach the toddler stage, their clothing needs will change. For example, during potty training separate tops and bottoms are best to dress children in.  This makes training easier for parents as well as encourages the toddler to be independent. It is a very good idea to buy clothes that are easy to put on and take off so the child can learn to dress him or herself. Buying clothing that is a little big will ensure that the child won’t grow out of it too soon.

When shopping for children’s clothes, keep in mind that designs and fashions are ever changing, so it’s important to keep up with the latest fashion trends so your child is in style. Even newborn apparel is has changed and is trendier in style these days. Sometimes you will spend a little extra on good quality children’s clothes but remember, children play hard and can be quite rough on their clothing. You want to make sure that what you buy will last through whichever stage they’re in. If you have younger children of the same gender, or if you plan to have another baby soon, keep unsoiled clothing put away for the next child. The money you spend on good quality children’s clothes will go a long way because they last. If you store clothing in an airtight storage bin, the clothing will stay clean and fresh and with just one wash will look as good as new!

Remember, you can find beautiful clothing for children that they will feel comfortable and that will withstand the test of time!

A Legacy of College Football
Posted (Kim Green) in GameTimeUSA on February-22-2009

It’s Saturday and there is a big fight feel on campus. You wake up and immediately go into rabid fan mode when you start sifting through your college football jerseys. Yes, it’s the kick-off Saturday for college football and you are ready to go!

Every fan has their own reason for rooting for a particular team. Although geographic location tends to breed fans for the local cities it’s not always the case in pro sports. Often a person has outside reasons for donning the colors of a team other then the one they grew up watching on television. It could be a fondness in youth for a mascot or team colors. It could be the star football player that was drafted to a team outside of your local market. Whatever the reasoning behind which professional sports franchise you root for it’s obvious that people have a million different reasons to explain why their fan-hood is better than the next persons.

However, college football is a much different animal and fans of college football are ravenous fans that don their college football jerseys with a fervor that is unmatched in any other sport. They will paint themselves and wear nothing to a game other than a small thong. They will root in the face of all adversity with the same passion as they would if they were up by fifty points in the third quarter. Tailgating parties have been known to start days before the big game and end days after. It’s tradition and it’s a true battlefield of warriors that spans generations of athletes and scholars alike.

Families go to college, not individuals. To clarify; generations tend to go to the same school so it’s easy to see how college sports can become part of a family’s DNA. They spend generations upon generations learning in the same hallowed halls and cheering on the same battered fields of glory. It’s no wonder that you see so many families passing down their college football jerseys to younger generations. You’ll see more authentic vintage jerseys are college football than you’ll see at any other level of sport. With this type of generational heritage it’s easy to see why college football has a die-hard loyal following that any other sports promoter would kill to have.

When you wake up on that season kick-off Saturday you’ll surely feel a sense of ability. It’s an ability to cheer your team to the national championships. The ability to become part of a snapshot of history that will live on for all of history, as you become the elder sportsman and you indoctrinate your younger generation into the family fold. You’ll pass down your college football jerseys with pride and you’ll regale stories of when you were in those stands, cheering your team to a national championship.

No matter which professional team you root for it will not compare to the passion that you’ll feel for the team that took you to new places as a younger college student. Those were the times of your life and the memories that will mean more to you than any professional ballgame could ever mean.

Planning an Exciting Baby Shower
Posted (Kim Green) in The Shower Foundry, baby gifts on February-21-2009

As baby showers get more and more popular the celebrations get more and more extravagant. This is a guide for getting the most out of your baby shower by giving tips on the best entertainment, party favors and baby shower gifts.

With babies come baby showers. These are great parties that celebrate life and the birth of a new child into the world, family and community. In some cultures these parties go on for days. The party can be pre-birth or post birth, boy oriented, girl oriented or even unisex oriented. They can be small social gatherings among family and friends or they can be large community celebrations with entire towns joining in the celebration. They can be blow out bashes with celebrity entertainment and expensive baby show gifts or low-key intimate settings. It’s obvious to see that every culture celebrates the birth of a child in many different manners but one thing remains the same across all cultures. That celebration is one of joy, excitement and rejoicing!

Planning a baby shower can be a daunting experience as well as a rewarding one. If you are the one in charge of this task and you plan to plan the party on your own there are a few things to keep in mind. First, you want o gauge the size of the party. Usually contacting the parents of the expected mother or even the best friend (if you are not that person already) to obtain a guest list. Not much can be worse then if you forget to invite that one special person. When this happens it can be a downer for the whole party. Once you have the guest list completed it makes planning much easier. It allows you to determine how many party favors, place settings, food and drink you will need to keep things lively or the full party. Just guessing on the amount of people you plan to attend the party is a recipe for failure. Failure is not an option! After all, you have an expected mother to make happy!

Once the basics of the party are planned you need to make sure the mother to be is taken care off. One of the big pluses for the expecting family is the fact that they will receive baby shower gifts to help sustain them for the first few months of the baby’s life. It’s expensive to raise an infant so this is a great opportunity for that family to get a little help from their friends. If the mother to be has announced the sex of the child it makes it a little easier to plan for gifts. If they have not, you will need to stress to the guest that unisex items will be best. This will help to ensure all gifts given will be affective and useful to the parents. Try to get the mother to register at an online store and a retail location. A gift registry makes life very simple for a party planner and also helps those attending the party ensure they get a gift that is useful to the guest of honor. All you need to do with the baby shower gifts is make sure everyone knows what sex they should be buying for and where they should buy (if the family is registered somewhere.) It’s then out of your hands and fate will be your guide!

Once you have that taken care of you need to figure out your entertainment. There are many online guides for baby shower games that are fun for everyone. In many cases these games are free or can be put together with general household items. Most people like games because it helps the time pass and it keeps everyone excited about the party. It’s also a good transition between food and diving into those baby shower gifts. Depending on your level of party professional entertainment might be sought out to ensure party goers and the mother to be are fully entertained. This can be expensive but if this is an option for you, it’s likely that you are aware of this.

The key to a successfully party isn’t always how much you spend. It’s the celebration of life that makes it special. It’s easy to hit a home run at a party like this. Simply make sure you celebrate baby and mother above all else and make sure the focus remains on the celebration of life!

Silver Lockets: A Gift They Will Cherish
Posted (Kim Green) in SilverMne Gifts on February-20-2009

Over time many gifts are forgotten, placed in drawers, abused to the point of disrepair, or simply forgotten due to lack of use. Buying that perfect gift and be very hard to do. Tastes change and as they do, the value of a well thought of gift can diminish. This doesn’t have to be the case. Silver lockets are never forgotten.

It doesn’t matter what the occasion is. A birthday, Christmas, Valentine’s day or even a “just because” occasion can be a scary proposition when trying to find that perfect gift for that special someone in your life. Often a haphazard approach is taken and a last minute purchase is completed. In most cases you will find that gift being forgotten within days and most certainly within a few months. They will smile, say how much they like it and then slowly forget about it. Usually you do to because very little thought went into buying it. About the time that occasion rolls around again you’ll think in the back of your mind, “what happen to last years gift?” You’ll then put it out of your mind and repeat the same process, yielding the same boring results.

This year you’ll find the perfect gift that will remain a lasting impression on your loved ones heart. Silver lockets can be very personal and with relatively little effort involved from the purchaser. Fine metals with ornamentation speak to the heart and really show that you put thought into the gift. It’s an item that can be worn on a bracelet or necklace on a daily basis and for every occasion. It’s an item that will stick in the forefront of her mind and keep her excited about your gift for years to come.

It’s a simple gift to pick out. Lockets come in numerous shapes. You can’t go wring with a heart shaped locket or even an oval locket. In most cases the biggest decision will be what to have engraved onto the locket. Engraving the locket is really what makes it personal. This is something that will always surpass any other gift. An engraving shows that you put thought into the gift and it wasn’t just something you picked off of the shelf. Be thoughtful and caring. You don’t have to fill up a book. Generally you’ll be limited to just a few words and any jeweler can help you with selecting the perfect words to express your love. Even if you didn’t think of everything yourself you’ll still get all of the credit for thinking of it!

The next thing you want to think about is the fact that many silver lockets come with the ability to fit it with a photo. This should be a memento of your love for each other. Think about pictures taken at special events or special times that you two have spent together. These types of memories will really dig deep and will earn more points with her than you can imagine.

The object of finding the perfect gift is to find a gift that will reinforce your love and dedication on a daily basis and to do that it must speak to her heart the love the two of you share. If you can find that gift you have found the perfect gift!

K. Green loves silver jewelry and has recently purchased two beautiful silver lockets and is very satisfied with the quality of them.

The Positive Results of Prioritizing Customer Service
Posted (Kim Green) in medelita on February-19-2009

In the current economic climate, businesses are cutting back, but one company’s emphasis on customer service is winning raving fans.

At a time when the economy is forcing many companies to cut back on personnel and automate every aspect of customer service they deem practical, a few companies are maintaining their commitment to excellence in customer service. Virtually every industry has taken advantage of the efficiencies made available by the internet and computerized phone systems. In many instances, the technology available adequately performs the essential functions required. But all too often, this technology distances the company from the consumer, and can become a barrier to meeting all of the needs of the customer. Over time, it can create a corporate culture that undervalues the importance of a sincere commitment to the customer. These days, finding a company that combines the efficiencies of electronic ordering with a genuine interest in meeting the needs of their customers is a real challenge.

One of the rare exceptions we found was, ironically, in the medical uniform industry at a company called Medelita. The irony is that uniforms are supposed to be the same and sold en masse. But as this company likes to say, they’re “anything but uniform.” Their commitment to customer service, as well as their attention to quality — as seen in their lab coats and scrubs made exclusively for female physicians, clinicians and nurses — exemplifies their dedication to the customer.
When asked about the cost of providing such personal service, Medelita Founder, Lara Manchik, explained, “The cost is more than offset by customer loyalty. Great customer service is becoming a lost art. Consequently, differentiating ourselves by making that extra effort to accommodate every request possible is a challenge we actually welcome. Each time a new customer experiences our personal touch, they become an advocate and a life-long customer.”

The testimonials on the Medelita web site support precisely what she says.
“The order arrived yesterday, right before leaving for her birthday party – PERFECT TIMING! I want to thank you for getting the order ready so quickly. She really LOVED the gift, and she thinks once her friends at med school see it, they will too. Again, many thanks – you’ve gained a loyal customer.”
Alfredo R.
Guaynabo, Puerto Rico

“Thank you so very much for expediting the lab coat order. The garments were received on time and made for a wonderful and timely gift. Customer service such as what you have demonstrated is rare and very much appreciated.”
Simon L., MD
Howard Beach, NY

“As promised, the medical scrubs arrived today and they are perfect! They fit perfectly, and are comfortable and beautifully made. Not a day goes by that I do not get a compliment on the lab coat I purchased. Although pricey, I am tempted to order a second one.”
Bonnie B., PA-C
Plano, TX

In a troubled economy, this company has pursued and benefited from a commitment to exceptional customer service that contrasts sharply with current corporate trends.

Kimberly Green is a personal shopper who is exploring the wonderful world of gender sensitive clothing, including lab coats, for one of the most important occupations in the world, medical care. Highlighting womens lab coats, womens medical scrubs and the fine manufacturers of these items.
